Project: Chicken Pox
For the last few weeks we have been doing projects on diseases and here is my project on chicken pox.
What are chicken pox?
Chicken pox are a disease that are pimples that can get really itchy and pussy . It is an infection with varicella zoster virus. Some animals like gorillas and chimpanzees get them quite often and you can sometimes catch chicken pox off them.
Why are they called chicken pox?
They are called chicken pox because they looked like chick peas so they made it into chicken pox. And chick peas are a food that are brown. Chicken pox were called pimples before chickenpox and the have not been called chicken pox for the whole time.
A cool fact:
You will only get chicken pox once in your life if you have the bad
How contagious are they and what can you do to stop them spreading?
Chicken pox are very contagious and It spreads through sneezing and illness. You can stop them spreading by not getting to close to the person with the chicken pox and not sharing anything like a drink bottle or something like that with that person.
Do you get them all over your body? You can get them everywhere on your body and they get really itchy and there lots of them and they can get really big. They can get really big on your head and you can get so many that you can hardly see your skin it just looks like you're really

Sense Of Smell
Smell would save your life. For example. You go to sit on the couch and you notice that you have left the oven on. Then the heat starts a fire and you are concentrating on you favorite program. Then you get a sense of smoke that comes up your nose and see that the oven is on fire and try to put it with a fire extinguisher but you can't so you get out and you are alive.
How you smell
You smell by your repector cells triggering each smell and that it what triggers the smell. Your nose breaths in the air and that is what activates the repector cells. Inside your nose is the olfactory epithelium which means smell device. In the smell device there are more than 10 million scent receptors These receptors can distinguish up to 10,000 different smells. Tiny odor molecules pass through the nose. The receptors send messages to the brain about the smells.
Bogies are helpful
Bogies are helpful
Bogies can help you by keeping dust and pollen out of your lungs and the snot will keep you from getting sick. So dont forget try and keep your snot in your nose not in your mouth!!!
Conclusion
So there you go that is the sense of smell. As you you could see not smell, smell is quite a helpful thing. You may not be alive if you couldn't smell. SO KEEP CARE OF YOUR NOSE!!
